Working with interactive creative agency Fine Citizens, we partnered on a 2D-animated explainer for Best Western that told a surprisingly big story: how the brand was completely rethinking the digital guest journey, from mobile booking to on-property Wi-Fi experiences.

The challenge was turning a complex, tech-forward transformation into something clear, human, and engaging. Our solution was a clean, modern illustration style paired with smooth, purposeful animation—designed to feel approachable, intuitive, and quietly sophisticated, much like the experience Best Western was aiming to create for their guests.

We built a flexible visual system that could move seamlessly between landscapes, devices, interfaces, and environments—guiding viewers from mobile to desktop to in-hotel experiences without ever feeling disjointed. Soft gradients, simplified geometry, and layered depth gave the piece a sense of warmth and dimensionality, while restrained motion and elegant transitions kept the focus on the story.

From responsive design and cross-device booking to personalized Wi-Fi portals and property-specific content, the animation helped demystify the technology and make its benefits instantly understandable. The result was an explainer that didn’t feel like an explainer—more like a short, visual journey through the future of hospitality.

It’s a great example of how we use design and animation not just to illustrate ideas, but to make them feel intuitive, desirable, and human.
