Helping Launch a Mission
The Kids Mental Health Foundation grew directly out of Nationwide Children’s Hospital’s On Our Sleeves initiative, and we were brought in at the very beginning to help launch the organization through video. From day one, the goal was clear: create a brand and visual language that could speak honestly about kids’ mental health while remaining accessible, hopeful, and supportive for families.
Our role started with building the foundation. We developed a comprehensive motion system for the brand, including logo animation, lower thirds, transitions, backgrounds, and graphic elements that could scale across platforms. That system became the visual backbone of the organization’s early storytelling and helped establish a consistent, recognizable identity from launch.
The first campaign centered on a long-form launch film supported by multiple cutdowns. Through careful casting and thoughtful interviews with parents and children, we helped tell deeply personal stories around mental health in a way that felt open, honest, and approachable. The focus was never on dramatizing the issue, but on helping families feel seen and showing them that support and resources were available.
When The Kids Mental Health Foundation returned the following year for a second campaign, the focus expanded to include the broader community surrounding children, including teachers, coaches, and caregivers. The challenge was to evolve the creative while staying true to the visual and emotional language established in the first campaign. We updated the look and feel, expanded the storytelling approach, and continued to build on the foundation we had helped create.
These videos remain among the most meaningful we’ve produced. The mission is real, the impact is tangible, and we’re proud to have played a role in helping The Kids Mental Health Foundation reach families and communities when it matters most.
